They carefully listened to my needs and kept sending me a lists of apartments matching them. They replied very quickly and always in a friendly manner to all my messages.

2. House visits:
They were very efficient in organising all visits with the real estate agents, which enabled me to see a maximum of apartments in a minimum of time.

I received very helpful information about neighbourhoods, transportation and local services available for expats in The Hague.

3. Signature process:
All standard terms and pitfalls in Dutch rental agreements were explained, and they verified the rental agreement for me.

Renting out your primary residence during a temporary overseas assignment seems like an attractive proposition: the house remains occupied while it also generates income. The latter is tax free, so really a ‘no-brainer’. However, there are a few considerations. One of which is a focal point for the tenants in case they have questions or problems with the house. Inevitably, there will be some issues to address, such as a dripping tap, a broken washing machine, storm damage to the house, etc.

We have used ‘Expat@Home’s service for over 5 years now and we are very pleased with the level of service such as response time, contact with the tenants and effectiveness in addressing any queries or issues. They keep us informed on any ongoing matters, provides us with a choice of possible solutions to a problem, including a cost indication. We used Jeanette Siebinga to manage our house in The Hague in 2016. We live in the UK and found Jeanette’s help invaluable in overseeing the Check-Out of our tenants, assessing any work required to the house, and arranging for it to be carried out quickly and efficiently prior to our house being sold. Jeanette took over the management of our property at a challenging time as our previous managing agent had had to move overseas at short notice and our tenants had coincidentally given Notice to leave. However, Jeanette provided a seamless service with her predecessor, and took over responsibility for the property and managed all aspects of the role with great professionalism and ease. What particularly impressed us was her pro-activity and responsiveness and in particular the way in which she communicated very clearly and thoughtfully with us.
